Advancing our understanding of iron and manganese in health and disease:
The Seo research group is interested in understanding the molecular regulation of iron and manganese and how disturbances in their function lead to human diseases.
We are currently focusing on the following projects:
I. Iron metabolism
1) Iron deficiency anemia and Iron overload disorder hemochromatosis
2) Neurodegeneration of Brain Iron Accumulation (NBIA)
II. Manganese metabolism
1) Genetic disorders of manganese metabolism
2) Brain disorders associated with manganese misregulation
Our lab is currently recruiting postdoctoral fellows in the field of Neuroscience or Cell Biology!
